You definitively need a professor at the university who is the supervisor from their side. So you have to know the general areas of the professors. General speeking: doing master thesis in the industry is a good choice. In order to find the right company you can do two things:
- talk to the professor and ask him directly for help - check on the websites of the companies which could provide a position in your area. Browse their product infos and regular job positings, so you can have some ideas.
you need at least two months to organize all the things. So you can inform you as soon as you know "your" interest area.

Technical university professors often want to keep the students in their group and do not support external thesis work. FH is easier.
