From the impact factors in the past few years, one has the feeling that the impact factors of "Science", "Nature" have dropped down a little bit, while most journals with lower impact factors are getting better reputation.

Journals printed in China are relatively young, while they are getting higher reputation every year. For example, Chinese Physics Letters had an impact factor of around 0.3 six years ago, while its current impact factor has increased up to 0.8; This is also the fact for Chinese Physics and Science in China.

Applied Physics Letters had an impact factor of around 3.033 six years ago, and its current impact factor is 3.849. Journal of Applied Physics also increases from an impact factor of 1.6 six years ago to 2.1 at the present.

For the Physical Review series, the impact factor keeps almost unchanged. Six years ago the impact factors are 2.88 and 6.1 for Physical Review B and Physical Review Letters, respectively. Around eight years ago Physical Review B had a higher impact factor than that of Applied Physics Letters. This is not any more true.

|
