Which distro is my favorit one?

The first time I heard of linux was really a long time ago, yet I have never actually got into it though. It was in February this year when I first had Redhat 9.0 installed in my machine, and I have tried quite a couple of distros since.

They are:

Redhat 9.0
Fedora Core 1
SuSE 9.0 Pro
SuSE 9.1 Pro
Mandrake 9.1
Mandrake 10 Official
Slackware 9.1
Debian Woody
Turbolinux 10 Desktop
Redflag 4.0
along with some minor distros that nobody might have even heard of.

and some live CDs too like Knoppix 3.4 and Mandrake Move. I have even built my own LFS just trying to get an overview of linux system.

The perfect linux system, as a "usable" desktop system, that I expect shall be a good substitution to MS Windows, and it also shouldn't be letting noobs like me struggling against the configuration s, because it could really scare away some people. Here I am talking as rather a user of a home computer than a developer who has a steady knowledge base of computing.

Here comes the answer to the question appeared at the very beginning of the posting:

SuSE 9.1 Pro

If someone like me wants to switch from MS Windows to linux, I would definitely recommend this distribution, not only because of its amazing ease of use, but also for the incredibly well documented help files which will absolutely lead you through the most difficulties you would ever encounter while you explore the world of linux.

Just some of my thoughts... |
